Shadowrun Online has been given a nice little boost thanks to a distribution deal with Nordic Games.
Shadowrun Online is a new team tactical RPG from Cliffhanger Productions.
Although it’s already available through Steam Early Access, Nordic has agreed to distribute the finished version, which is due on Linux, Mac and PC in the second quarter.
Normally at this point I would quietly ignore all the PR guff included with the announcement, but this bit from Nordic business and product development manager Reinhard Pollice struck me with its frankness.
“We are excited to cooperate with Cliffhanger Productions on multiple levels: some of us spent copious amounts of hours in the Shadowrun universe (armed with pen and paper),” he said.
“Plus visiting Cliffhanger’s studio takes 15 minutes with public transportation to check out the latest internal build, so we can collaborate closely.”
Cliffhanger said it “just clicked” with Nordic and believes the publisher will give the game the attention it deserves.
Then there was a great deal of reprisal of what Shadowrun Online actually is, which you hopefully know by now, so let’s just end it here.
Just as a reminder, Nordic Games has gone from somewhat obscurer Scandinavian distributor to something of an IP powerhouse, having grabbed up a pile of THQ’s properties and started signing indies left and right. We’re pretty excited to see what it does with its new opportunities.
