Whatever Sony was teasing at an event in Taipei this weekend, it wasn’t Metal Gear Rising 2, apparently.
A tease shown at the Taipei Game Show looked a heck of a lot like Metal Gear Rising 2, but the rumour has been debunked.
The news comes via Geoff Keighley, who is pretty pally with Kojima Productions staff.
Slice that rumor: No Metal Gear Rising 2 tease at Taipei games show. Spoke to @Ken1555 from @Kojima_Pro_Live, it is not true.

In reply to the conversation thread on this tweet, Kojipro’s Ken-Ichiro Imaizumi said his team doesn’t even know what the teaser refers to – only that it comes from SCE, Sony’s games publishing arm.
We don't know. Sounds like it just a countdown number "2". It's SCE made trailer. @666darkamon666 @geoffkeighley @compccs @Kojima_Pro_Live

If you keep scrolling down Imaizumi’s replies you can see he explains that the “one” and “three” of the countdown are in the clip’s audio, if not in the visuals, and that he thinks it was a promo for Sony’s booth at the event.
Read more and you’ll see a couple of people replying repeatedly calling Kojipro trolls or pointing out font inconsistencies in an attempt to prove it is what they want it to be – which is unsurprising given the nonsense Konami pulled with Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and even Silent Hills. Who know? Maybe they’ll be right in the end.
We’d like to see a sequel to Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, which hit PS3 and Xbox 360 in early 2013, with a PC port popping up in 2014. Originally developed by Kojipro as Metal Gear Solid: Rising, the project went nowhere fast and was eventually handed off to Platinum Games for development as a spin-off, where it became a neat little action game – although it certainly has its share of problems, too.
