OtherSide Entertainment’s Underworld Ascendant Kickstarter has launched.
The independent games studio fronted by Paul Neurath, who worked on franchises such a Thief, System Shock and 1992′s Underworld, announced last month it would take the project to the crowdfunding site.
Along with the Kickstarter video which is posted below, you will find demo footage and details on gameplay and development plans over on the Kickstarter page.
“We’re bringing back the classic single-player, immersive underworld adventuring that made the original great,” said the studio, but we’re also innovating.
“We’re pushing forward with our new Improvisation Engine; going deeper than any other game in creating a living, breathing world fantasy world hidden beneath the earth; trying out a new approach to co-op play with a friend, and more.
“The team here at OtherSide has set itself the lofty goal redefining the fantasy RPG for this generation of gamers, much as we did for the last generation.”
The Underworld Ascendant team is asking $600,000, and as of press time, 1,520 backers have pledged $105,367 with 29 days left.
Concept art is posted below along with the video.
