Rock Band 4 instruments won’t be covered in exciting new things, so you may as well hold onto your old ones if you have them.
Rock Band developer Harmonix has wisely decided to continue supporting last-gen controllers for the next game, rewarding long-term fans who are still using them (or kept them in a broom closet).
Of necessity, this means the new controllers produced to be sold alongside Rock Band 4 can’t have a bunch of new features.
Harmonix told Edge, as reported by Videogamer, that the new controllers will be pretty much identical to the last set.
The one exception here is the keyboard or keytar; there won’t be any keyboard tracks in Rock Band 4, there won’t be a new keyboard controller, and Rock Band 4 won’t support the last-gen version.
Rock Band 4 is coming to PS4 and Xbox One in northern autumn. Steph and I are extremely excited.
