Splatoon is a multiplayer shooter where nobody dies, but that doesn’t mean we’ll see an end to the horrors of PvP battle.
In Splatoon, players utilise a variety of unconventional, uh, weapons, in their attempt to take over the arena – and take out their opposition.
In the video below, Nintendo unveils the paint roller, which looks pretty damn powerful; watch as two enemies are crushed by it.
Shades of shotguns and rocket launchers, amirite? Well, we’ll see how the meta evolves when it’s in the hands of skilled players; I’m sure it has plenty of weaknesses, not the least of which is that your friends won’t stand still and wait for you to smack them like these chumps do.
Splatoon is a Wii U exclusive about squids, among other things, and is expected to release worldwide in May. It has a single-player mode for those who can’t adjust to this exciting new Nintendo future where we play together.
