A video featuring Deus Ex: Mankind Divided’s executive game director Jean-François Dugas and other members of the team has been posted on Game Informer.

In the video, which can be viewed here, Dugas along with narrative director Mary DeMarle, art director Jonathan Jacques-Belletête, and audio director Steve Szczepkowski discuss creating the “dark and mysterious” futuristic world which permeates the game.

The team also delved into how it worked with a real life biotech expert and how important it was to create a realistic, scientific foundation for the augmentations built within the game. Anytime an idea went a bit left field, the team scaled the design process back to something more tangible.

As reported earlier this week, the game takes place in 2029, two years after the events of Human Revolution. A divide between augmented humans and those without enhancements is tearing society apart with different groups splitting into factions.

The groups we are aware of so far are: Task Force 29, The Augmented Rights Coalition (ARC)and the ever present Illuminati.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is being developed using the Dawn Engine at Eidos Montreal and will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
