Kenji Inafune’s Might No.9 has been given a release date, and while it’s not coming in April as originally planned, you now have something to look forward to playing in late summer.
The Mega Man spiritual successor was crowdfunded on Kickstarter by Inafune’s studio Comcept with Abstraction Games adding its expertise to various ports. It is to be published by Deep Silver, according to an announcement today from the developer.
“First of all, yes, it is a delay from our original Spring estimate,” noted Comcept on the Mighty No. 9 website. “The reason for the delay, and the reason we are so excited about this new partnership [with Deep Silver] in the first place, is all the cool stuff it will allow us to add to the game – content that all Backers will get absolutely free.
“Added Japanese and French voiceovers in addition to English, which is free for all backers and extra subtitle languages in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Russian, Polish and Brazilian Portuguese. Again, free for all backers.
“Best of all: the entire Ray DLC set which is an entire extra level and boss and playable character. This is free for all backers as well.”
Comcept said the deal with Deep Silver also provided the developers with more time and resources for “testing, polish, and the creation of physical retail versions,” on some of the announced systems.
The project raised over $3.8 million during its 2013 campaign, withfurther crowdfunding accepted through pre-orders to afford English voice actors.
The old-school styled platformer is expected on 3DS, Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One from September 15.
