Nintendo tops software and hardware charts in Japan with the New 3DS and Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition

Nintendo has stormed the Japanese charts this week, sitting pretty at the top of both the hardware and software lists, in the wake of Golden Week.

Puzzles and dragons

Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition tops the software chart – that’s brimming with 3DS and WiiU titles – while the New 3DS LL pips the PS Vita to the post to top the hardware charts.

Sony comes in at second and third position with the Vita and PS4, while Minecraft for the PS Vita claims the number three spot for software, and is the only game for a system other than Nintendo’s to make it into the top ten.
