Blizzard has announced the first-ever global tournament series for their new MOBA Heroes of the Storm that will take place at BlizzCon 2015.
There will be over $1.2 million in cash and prizes, with the winning team nabbing $200,000.
Regional championships for the Americas (including North America, Latin America, Southeast Asia, as well as Australia and New Zealand), Europe, China, Korea, and Taiwan will kick off later this month, with the top eight teams attending the World Championship at BlizzCon in Anaheim on November 6 and 7.
Characters from all over the Blizzard universe will be available to play – over 35 in total – and there will be a number of different gameplay modes, including a Versus A.I. mode and highly competitive draft-style ranked play.
Heroes of the Storm launches on June 2 and you can find out more on World Championship news and how to sign up here.
