Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition delayed over “packaging quality issue”

Another Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition has suffered a setback, but instead of being outright canceled, it’s only been delayed.

An email sent to Amazon customers, and obtained by Eurogamer, states the £80 Amazon-exclusive Limited Edition of the Rocksteady title was delayed due to a “packaging quality issue” at the manufacturer.

“We want to ensure that your order reaches you in pristine condition and your item, with the updated packaging, should be with you no later than 14 July, 2015,” stated Amazon.

In the interim, Amazon will provide customers with download codes so that they can enjoy the game as previously planned come June 23.

The email was sent to UK customers, so we’re looking into whether this is the case in North America as well. When searching the site, the listings state the following: “Currently unavailable: We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”

Earlier this week, it was announced by Warner that the The Batmobile Edition had been canceled a week from launch due to “unforeseen circumstances that greatly compromised the quality” of the Batmobile collectible.

The Batman: Arkham Knight Limited Edition contains the same content, save for a Batman memorial statue in lieu of the Batmobile.
