Burstfire is a new tactical, team-based multiplayer first-person shooter in development which pits teams of five against each other through sudden-death combat objectives.
In development at Free Reign Entertainment and Nacho Games, the shooter is the brainchild of former Adhesive Games team members – the studio which brought you mech combat simulator Hawken.
Before each round begins in Burstfire, defenders will need to establish a defensive position, fortify choke points, and lay traps. Meanwhile, the attacking team will need to develop a strategy to counter the other’s preparations.
The game is slow-paced instead of run-and-gun, as it rewards players for careful movement and precise shooting. In order to encourage said behavior, players are given “free choice of dozens of weapons, tools, and pieces of tactical gear.”
Weapons can be customized with attachments, cosmetic changes, and soon, player will be able to completely customize their loadout.
Following launch this summer, Nacho Games will continue to support the title with new content, new maps and items.
Brustfire has a “pay once, play forever” release model, but purely aesthetic items such as gun skins and other cosmetics will be purchasble to support continued development.
