YouTube added support for VR-related videos earlier this month, and while for the time being it’s just film clips with 360 degree viewing support, it probably won’t be long before Oculus and Project Morpheus-supported game videos are added to the mix.

Users can view VR clips using the YouTube mobile app and the Cardboard VR Headset or other setups.

The Cardboard Headsets can be obtained from attending movies or requesting one via fax from Adult Swim – or users can just pay $5 or more for one off Amazon.

At this point, the headset only works on Android but iOS support is expected in the near future.

The latest VR project to land on YouTube is for The Terminator which out in theaters this July, and it provides the viewer with a 360-degree video experience. It works with the aforementioned cardboard peripheral.

Google announced YouTube Gaming earlier this month as both an app and website dedicated to the company’s gaming content. Being able to watch VR game videos as intended would be a plus.

Users will be able to go online or use the app to subscribe to channels, watch livestreams, be provided with relevant recommendations based on user preferences, and it will also feature a new Live system which will allow users to “hang out” with creators.

With Ouclus Rift out in Q1 2016 and Project Morpheus releasing sometime in mid-2016, so surely YouTube support for both kits will be added soon after release.
