The Ill-Gotten Gains update for Grand Theft Auto 5 has broken single-player mods.
Released today, the 2GB update on PC has crippled Script Hook V and Native Trainer, which allow popular mods to be installed in the game.
“I wonder if R* will say again that they are not against single player mods,” wrote the author of Script Hook V, Alexander Blade.
“Got the patch (1.0.372.2), native hashes are changed, drm code protection is applied to lots of script related functions, including natives itself .
“Backup your files til ScriptHookV update.”
Rockstar has said before that it has no intention of banning single-player mods on the PC.
As the Ill-Gotten Gains DLC is an update as well as new content, it also includes bug fixes (such as reinstating depth of field functions on the Snapmatic camera app) so it’s likely that the latest mods issue isn’t intentional.
If you want to keep playing GTA 5 singleplayer with mods, you’re warned against installing the latest update, which adds high-end cars and vehicles, new clothes and a new weapon to the game.
