A trailer for The Bard’s Tale 4 has been released, giving you the first look at the Unreal Engine 4 game’s graphics.

According to inXile Entertainment, exploring the game world will be a major part of the experience, so the team wanted to provide the player with a full screen in order to take in the surroundings.

However, once combat starts, it “shifts out of the first person mode,” noted studio boss Brian Fargo on Kickstarter.

“We are still debating the best ways to present combat as that is ultimately dictated by the final budget,” he said, “but rest assured it will be party and turn/phase based.”

inXile launched the Kickstarter for The Bard’s Tale 4 earlier this week, and it has already earned $935,724 in pledges toward the $1.2 million needed for development.

Should the project meet its funding goal, the developer will put in at least $1.25 million of its own money to double the initial budget.

The Bard’s Tale 4 is in development for PC, Mac and Linux and will be made available through GOG and Steam upon release.
