How quests will be implemented into Destiny: The Taken King was the focus of the latest update from Bungie this week.
According to the developer, the changes coming will impact both old and new content. If you want to hear about it, Arekkz Gaming has the rundown in the video below.
According to creative director Luke Smith, there will be some “big changes coming” with the expansion.
In Year One, Exotic Bounty Chains were part of the “foundation” of the game, but Bungie felt there was area for improvement so The Taken King was built with “Quests in mind.”
Not wanting to ignore Year One content with the change, the team decided it needed to be “questified”.
In other words, the number of Bounties players can carry will be increased; slots for both Quests and Bounty will be tracked in the HUD; completed Bounties will be turned in from the Quests screen; and Reputations will be moved from Inventory to the Quests page.
The 2.0 update will also include “a number of improvements for all Destiny players,” and more on these will be shared in the coming weeks.
“Guns, Balance, Progression, Destinations, Enemies… we’ll unpack everything a hardcore player like you would want to know before launch,” said Smith.
Also of note in the weekly update, Bungie provided figures on how players are progressing on the road to earning the Moments of Triumph emblem.
Comparing this week to last, here are the player stats so far:
- 39% increase in Public Event completion
- 74% increase in Skolas kills in Prison of Elders
- 40% increase in Crota’s End Hard Mode participation
- 10% increase in Vault of Glass Hard Mode participation (Everyone had already run it for Fatebringer)
Players have until September 15 to earn the Laurea Prima Emblem.
