Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr is coming to current-gen and PC next year.

Announced today by Games Workshop and The Adventures of Van Helsing-developer Neocore Games, Inquisitor is a persistent sandbox action-RPG.

Players will take part in a “secret war among the stars” during the “dark and violent 41st millennium” as the agents of the Inquisition in single-player.

After the campaign is finished, the story will continue “in a colossal sandbox game with years of constant entertainment, gradual development and a continuous flow of content that enriches the action-RPG gameplay.”

That’s a mouthful.

The first playable build of the game will be available at gamescom 2015.

Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr will be released on Mac, PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and PC in 2016.
