Treyarch has revealed a few crucial details about the Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 beta that you need to know.
In a new FAQ, Activision and Treyarch have taken on answering the most common questions about the upcoming beta for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. This particular blog post doesn’t cover things like maps or modes, which have previously been detailed.
What it does cover is the game’s download size, when and how you get your keys etc. As for the download, the beta client will clock in at 15 GB.
In addition, the beta code you received from your retailer is not the one you’ll be using to download it. You will need to enter it at this website to get a beta token, which is what you’ll be redeeming on your console.
These tokens will be emailed to everyone who registered starting 12am PST on August 19 for the PS4 beta, and 12am PST on August 26 for PC and Xbox One. If you pre-ordered directly from PSN or Xbox Live, you won’t need to do any of that and the beta will be available to download once it goes live.
During the beta, periodic maintenance will be performed, bringing the servers offline.
Finally, the FAQ confirms that progress will not carry over to the main game, unlike what some believed.
