Final Fantasy 15 will be released before 2017, according to director Hajime Tabata.
Speaking with Gamespot, Tabata said he understands the “worry” over the lack of a release date, but assured “it’s not going to be 2017.”
“It’s going to be before that,” he told the site. “At the very least, I can tell you that it isn’t going to be released this year. I think we’ll be able to tell you when we’re making the announcement around PAX Prime, at the end of this month.”
So, Square will announce when it will make a release date announcement at PAX. That’s how it sounds, anyway.
Yesterday, during the live Active Time Report from gamescom, Tabata said a release date for Final Fantasy 15 had been established internally at Square Enix along with distribution of information pertaining to other game features said release date.
Tabata also reiterated this to Gamespot, stating there is a reveal road map Square Enix is sticking to, and the team hasn’t deviated from the schedule.
The next Active Time Report will take place at PAX Prime later this month, and another during the Tokyo Game Show in September. Tabata promised more information on Final Fantasy 15 at both events.
