Red Dead Redemption, a five year-old game, somehow continues to sell.
Take-Two, the parent company of Red Dead Redemption developer Rockstar, has revealed that the western shooter has shipped over 14 million units.
The milestone can be seen in a slide on the publisher’s shareholder outreach presentation, which also lists the various other franchises the company is known for. The game’s DLC and expansion are described as “commercially successful”.
Red Dead Redemption is considered by many to be one of the best games of last generation. The game is constantly in the top three of the most requested games for Xbox One’s backwards compatibility. Take-Two and Rockstar have always been coy when talking about a sequel.
On one hand, that’s to be expected given how the two usually do PR for their games. On the other, it doesn’t fill fans with confidence that one day they might see a new-gen wild west adventure.
Thanks, Gamespot.
