Konami believes its Pro Evolution Soccer series is catching up to EA’s FIFA and predicts it will have the lead once again.
Pro Evolution Soccer is closing the sales gap between it and FIFA, and catching up to once again take the lead, according to Konami.
“We’re definitely catching up with FIFA,” said product manager Adam Bhatti told MCV. “And we have to be respectful about that. We have to keep closing that gap. In a couple of years we’ll clearly lead again. But we have to convince a lot of people.”
Bhatti made a good point about licenses, a major reason players flock to EA’s title instead of Konami’s. “There are things we can’t control like licences, but in terms of presentation, visuals, we want to be industry leading.”
On one hand, it’s good that FIFA is getting competition again, at least judging by reviews so far. On the other, does it even matter?
