A new speedrun world record has been set for Super Mario Bros.by Darbian who ran through the game using his original NES system multi-cart which also included the games Duck Hunt and World Class Track Meet on it.

He went through the entire game and rescued the princess in four minutes 57 seconds and 627 milliseconds.

Normally we wouldn’t bother posting milliseconds, but when a world record is on the line, even a millisecond counts. And in this case it, Darbian completed the game 66 milliseconds faster than i_o_l who was the previous record holder as of June 2014.

The YouTube version of his speedrun is posted above, but you can watch him try for the record over on Twitch via on demand.
