Dark Souls 3 isn’t finished but sharp eyes can already spot some interesting developments.
This weekend’s Dark Souls 3 stress test gave Digital Foundry a chance to take a look at the first entry in the series developed exclusively for current-generation hardware.
From Software has already had a couple of opportunities to work with the PS4 on the Dark Souls 2 re-release and Bloodborne, and the latter’s influence really shows; the group’s report notes that Dark Souls 3 exhibits the same gorgeous lighting system as Bloodborne.
“Armour and leather cloaks diffuse light based on their material, light shafts stream between mossy castle arches, and shadows cast dynamically from objects – a method similar to From Software’s last work,” apparently.

Dark Souls 3 is expected on PC, PS4 and Xbox One in April 2016.
