Home Free is an open world game about being a stray dog and it’s on Kickstarter

By Stephany Nunneley

Home Free is a survival sim set in a modern day city and it puts the player in the shoes (er, paws) of a stray dog.

The open-world action-RPG game will contain procedural content and the player will be trying its best to survive as a stray in a city full of people who will like you, and some who will not.

They will need to scavenge for food in the trash, check for some behind restaurants, and even beg for food or steal it from people. Ultimately, the player will want to find a permanent home.

Cats will be added if one of the stretch goals are met.

Players will also need to find shelter from the elements, try to avoid getting into fights with other dogs, and they can jump around with other player dogs in the local multiplayer Dog Park mode.

Home Free is asking for $50,000 in pledges and as of press time has already earned over $29,000. It has 29 days left on the clock.

The developers plan to release the game on PC and Mac during fall 2016.
