BBC Three will livestream the League of Legends World Championships this month.
BBC Three will be streaming the League of Legends World Championships live for the first time. The event, which is being held at the Wembley Arena, is the biggest of its kind for League of Legends.
Radio One DJ Dev Griffin and journalist Julia Hardy will be hosting the event and interviewing fans. Casters Leigh ‘Deman’ Smith and James ‘Stress’ O’Leary will provide gameplay commentary.
The broadcasts will cover four days of the Championships’ quarter finals. Livestreams will be available online starting Thursday, October 15 and through Sunday, October 19.
“We jumped at the chance to collaborate with BBC Sport and bring this massive UK event to a wider audience,” said BBC Three controller Damian Kavanagh.
“BBC Three will always experiment with new ways to deliver content that young people want, in ways they want. I think this is an exciting way to cover something millions of young Brits love, in a BBC Three way.”
