Sony announces the PS4 Universal Remote three months after retail outed it

By Stephany Nunneley

Sony has announced a late-October release for its officially licensed PlayStation 4 Universal Remote.

As previously outed by online retailers, the Performance Designed Products (PDP) Bluetooth remote will turn on the system, allow you to scroll through the PS4 UI, and control video content on various apps.

You can use it with Blu-ray discs, DVDs and Netflix and it can control up to three additional devices, including a TV, cable box and audio receiver.

The remote will be made available in North America when it launches later this month for $29.99.

Amazon has it listed for an October 27 release, Toys R Us November 7, Best Buy October 12, and GameStop apparently already has it available.

PDP also sent over a couple of larger shots of the remote. Have a look below.
