The indie has launched a Kickstarter for Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain, which is of course the first gamebook in the Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson series.

Tin Man Games has already brought the gamebook to modern digital audiences as a mobile app, but now has an original take on the adventure: a digital tabletop board game, complete with miniatures and interactive map.

As well as bringing the story off the virtual page and onto a virtual table, the new version has multiple characters to choose from and a bunch of new content.

Tin Man Games has already completed the tech base of the project and humbly asked for $15,000 to finish the artwork. Backers have already pledged almost $26,000, and the campaign still has 27 days remaining.

Fighting Fantasy: The Warlock of Firetop Mountain will launch DRM-free on Linux, Mac and PC next year, before heading to smartphones and tablets. Keen? hit the link above for details and rewards.
