BlizzCon 2015 kicks off Friday, and it seems quite a few Overwatch fans are expecting the game to be announced for consoles at the event.

Here’s a list of what is considered evidence of a PS4 and Xbox One version being in the works:

  • Strings for authentication checks in the game’s source code (INITIAL_PSN_OR_XBL_AUTH; WAITING_FOR_PSN_OR_XBL_AUTH)
  • The European website noting consoles in source code (briefly)
  • The user friendly interface
  • Controller support for the PC version

The strings for authentication checks for PS4 and Xbox One posted above were found in the Overwatch PC code by Overpwn.

As Eurogamer notes, when Overwatch was announced at BlizzCon last year, game director Jeff Kaplan said the team would “love to see Overwatch played on whatever it could be played on.” So, there’s that too.

File it away as a possibility at least until something is announced.

BlizzCon’s opening ceremony will be streamed for free on Xbox One November 6 starting at 11am PT/2pm ET and online in HD for BlizzCon Virtual Ticket holders.

Some parts of the show, including the opening ceremony can be viewed for free, as always.

After the opening ceremony ends, a content overview for World of Warcraft: Legion will be presented, followed by presentations on Heroes of the Storm; what’s next for Hearthstone; and what’s new with Overwatch. Friday’s schedule includes other panels and events.

The schedule for Saturday, November 7 can be found through here.
