Nintendo Switch pre-orders go live in the UK as the dawn breaks on a glorious new future of hybrid hardware.
Switch pre-orders are expected to go live globallyand officially in the wake of Nintendo’s Switch launch reveal event today, but precisely when retailers will get their ducks in a row is up in the air.
Well, except for a couple of highly organised crews. Nintendo’s New York flagship store is taking Switch pre-orders in person Friday morning, and if you’re on the other side of the pond, Amazon UK has you covered for Switch pre-orders (sorry, literally everywhere else in the world).
The mega-retailer has announced that Switch pre-orders will open on its UK site at 7:00am BST on Friday, January 13 – a couple of hours after the Switch launch details reveal event.
“Due to limited stock we are only able to offer one unit per customer per address. We will be fulfilling customer orders in the order in which they were placed,” Amazon advised. That bit about fulfilling orders in sequence suggests it expects not to have enough stock to sort everyone out on Switch launch day.
If you’re in the UK, you might want to set an alarm for 5:55am and go immediately to bed, for your best chance at getting a Switch pre-order in for launch day stock. Good luck, cats.
