The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – check out the differences between Switch and Wii U

By Stephany Nunneley

Those interested in how The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild looks on Wii U compared to Nintendo Switch may want to give this video a watch.

It’s not a perfect comparison, according to Arekkz, as the demos he played at E3 2016 and during yesterday’s Switch event in London were different. However, you will still see some overlap in the various areas of both The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild demos.

The video at least gives you an idea of how the visuals look between the two versions, despite the different demos.

Arekkz notes the game looks crisper on Switch, it has faster loading times due to being stored on a cartridge, and will run in 900p when docked and 720p when in portable mode. Arekkz states the resolution has not been confirmed by Nintendo, but that was just what he heard from the show floor.

Hopefully Nintendo will clarify information on that end soon.

As far as the size of the game is concerned, the Nintendo Japan site has the Switch version listed as 13.4GB, and Wii U version at 13GB (thanks, Nintendo Everything).

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released on March 3 as a Nintendo Switch launch title. The Wii U version will be released the same day.
