Some hidden weapons in Battlefield 1 have been unlocked on the CTE. While the developer-only options seem to have been released unintentionally, players are able to get their hands on the weapons now.
First up in the video from Westie above is the C96 Export. The standard version of this weapon is the one you see the Hellfire solider holding on the Battlefield 1 cover. In the main game, it is a Medic-only pistol, but the developer version can be used by any class in the game.
It has a higher damage output than the standard C96, but on the flip side, it’s harder to control. The Export version has some other differences, but Westie says in the end, the weapon is nothing to write home about.
The other developer-only weapon unlocked was the Howdah Pistol Sweeper. The standard Howdah Pistol in the game is used by the Assault class, and it a great weapon to use at close range. However, the developer version can be used by any class and swaps out the standard rounds for shotgun shells. Thus, the Sweeper being added to the gun’s name.
It’s like packing around a mini-shotgun in your hand. Lovely.
Sadly, these variants will never be added into the main Battlefield 1 game, but if you play on the CTE, have fun with them.
There are also further variants in Battlefield 1 which are locked away from the public: the M1903 Infantry is only available in certain specific game modes and the M1903 Suppressed is only available in the campaign – for now.
What players will definitely get soon are four new weapons variants for all four classes. These weapons are currently being tested on the CTE: Hellriegel 1915 Defensive (Assault), Selbstlader 1906 Sniper (Medic), Huot Automatic Optical (Support) and Martini-Henry Sniper (Scout).
Westie tested these out and let’s you know whether they are worth the effort or not through a video released earlier this morning.
The new variants will need to be unlocked by players in a similar vein to the DLC weapons in They Shall Not Pass.
