Be prepared to download a new patch for Mass Effect: Andromeda before you start playing today.
Despite confirming that the Mass Effect: Andromeda day one patch is included in the EA and Origin Access builds, BioWare released another day one patch yesterday.
The patch was first released on PC, bringing PC-specific fixes for some of the most pressing issues, and later dropped on PS4. The Xbox One version was delayed, but it’s now been released.
The download size is 2GB on PS4, and 775MB on Xbox (via Windows Central). BioWare did not provide any patch notes, and the PS4 Update History only mentions the typical “bug fixes and stability improvements.”
Whatever the patch does fix, it won’t be those wonky animations.
Mass Effect: Andromeda is out now in North America, March 23 everywhere else. The reviews so far have not been kind. Andromeda is now the lowest-rated game in the series.
