Persona 5 drops next week and if you want to know what everyone and their dog thought before you buy it, peruse these review scores.
Persona 5 is a game a lot of us here have been hyped about, and I imagine a a lot of you are pretty pumped for release as well.
Is it destined to disappoint in the face of all that buzz, following in the footsteps of the brilliant Persona 4? Absolutely not by the looks of the reviews.
Our own Alex Donaldson said that Persona 5 is the best Japanese RPG in over a decade – a bold statement indeed – and the scores coming in are hugely positive.
The game’s story focuses on a group of former delinquents who call themselves Phantom Thieves, living dual lives in Japan. They go to school, take part in extra-curricular activities, have part-time jobs, but they also go on “fantastical adventures by using otherworldly powers to enter the hearts of people.”
The release date feels like its aeons away and I think I might just burst with excitement before it arrives.
