Watch Dogs 2’s No Compromise DLC will add new content to replace Showdown mode.
Ubisoft has just revealed their content road map for Watch Dogs 2 and there’s a bunch of free content scheduled for the coming months, including four player co-op.
The co-op mode was originally part of the paid No Compromise DLC, but Ubisoft has changed their plans, making it a free update for all platforms, coming April 17.
“There are two main drivers behind making Showd0wn free for all of our players,” says Watch Dogs 2’s live producer, Kris Young.
“The first is that we want everyone to be able to participate and play it. We really wanted to have as many people as possible playing the mode for a better challenge, better matchmaking time and quality, and a healthier, more active community.
“The other is community feedback we’ve received since we announced the original plans. Our community asked for more multiplayer content, and that’s also a reason why we’ve decided to make Showd0wn accessible for free for all players, while replacing it with more single-player content in No Compromise.”
Making the multiplayer mode a free update for everyone seems like the wise thing to do.
The No Compromise DLC features a new story, while the new content includes single-player time trials, a couple of nonlethal weapons, and emergency service-themed vehicles and outfits that aren’t just fun cosmetic items.
“Each outfit and vehicle adds a new ability that lets Marcus affect NPC behavior and do previously impossible things,” reads the blog post, so look forward to that.
You can get a preview of the DLC on the spoiler stream at 10AM PDT/ 1PM EDT/ 6PM BST on April 13.
The No Compromise DLC will be available on April 18 for PS4, and on May 18 for Xbox One and PC.
