Year 2 of the Rainbow Six Siege Pro League drops Xbox One to be PC exclusive

The competitive play side of Rainbow Six Siege will only take place on PC going forward.

The Rainbow Six Pro League, Rainbow Six Siege‘s eSports tournament –
which will soon start its second year, was divided into two tournaments during the first year.

The two divisions, one for PC and another for Xbox One, ran parallel to one another, sharing a prize purse worth $100,000. Ubisoft announced that this year, the tournament will take place exclusively on PC. The publisher said it’s doing this to “ensure a bigger and better development of the competition”.

Console players will still be able to participate in the Major Leagues.

This year will feature three seasons as well as a grand final. The top-placing teams at the end of each season will compete for the same $100,000 at the grand final. Year Two kicks off March 20 in North America, March 23 in Europe, and March 26 in Brazil.

See the link for more details about the competing teams, and where to watch the action. The finals will take place in Katowice, Poland on May 20-21.
