Bayonetta has sold over 100,000 units on PC, according to SteamSpy

Bayonetta was released last week on Steam, and according to public data, it’s a rather big hit with PC users.

According to data compiled by SteamSpy (thanks, PCgamesN), approximately 114,007 users own Bayonetta on Steam.

PCgamesN reached out to SEGA to confirm accuracy of the figure, which it wouldn’t comment on. However, it did provide the site with the following comment:

“Concerning Bayonetta surpassing 100,000 (according to SteamSpy), we do not have any confirmation of numbers. However, we are extremely overwhelmed by the support for Bayonetta and love that we reached #1 on the Steam charts.”

Looking over this week’s charts, Bayonetta is indeed the number one game release, if Early Access games aren’t taken into account. That said, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds was the number one title as of April 16 (xml link).

Hopefully, Bayonetta’s success on Steam means more titles from Platinum Games will be released on PC, which the studio is 100% behind.

SEGA will release its fiscal year 2017 results on May 12, so it’s possible the company will announce sales figures at that time, if not before.
