Looking at the lore might offer more clues to the story in Destiny 2.
Following the announcement of Destiny 2 last week, everyone and their dog has been analysing the trailer for clues, and there’s even been a very big hint as to the what the first couple of expansions are going to be about.
Alex is back with even more Destiny 2 info, namely everything we know about the sory so far, and what the Grimoire entries contribute to figuring out what’s going down at the Tower.
We already know that there’s going to be a Cabal invasion of the Tower, that the Guardians have lost their power, and they’re fleeing. But we don’t know why any of this has kicked off.
Alex breaks down the history of the Cabal in relation to our solar system and their encounters with the Guardians.
Basically they’ve had their schemes thwarted one time too many and want to carry out the plans they had for an assault on Earth. Based on Grimoire entries it looks like that the Cabal want to put an end to the Guardians’ resurrecting ability too.
Alex talks about all of this in more detail and touches on the Rasputin expansion as well. He even speculates on how Hawthorne, a character who left the safety of the city to survive beyond the walls, may play a part in teaching the Guardians how to get on without all of their fancy powers.
Hawthorne is referenced in the description of the Frontier bag included in the Collector’s Edition, and the accompanying description reads:
“Born in the City, Hawthorne left as a teen to seek a life of freedom in the wilderness outside the safety of our walls. She has survived for years outside of Guardians’ protection, and has come to learn her true purpose: To provide shelter to humanity by helping them not only survive, but lead a better way of life.
“This is a frontier bag, as worn by Hawthorne. In it, you will find tools and a place to store the valuable equipment you uncover on your own adventures.”
It’s all very intriguing.
