Peter Molyneux, arguably one of Kinect’s biggest early supporters, has quite the stark opinion of the peripheral today.
Peter Molyneux, the Fable creator who once got everyone excited about the original Kinect with the interactive Milo demo, and later with Fable: The Journey, actually has a poor opinion of the device.
Speaking to IGN, the designer recalled the enormous premise of the original Kinect, and how it ultimately didn’t come close to the exciting initial reveal in the final product.
Molyneux revealed this when was asked by IGN how Fable: The Journey came to be. Though he wasn’t able to recall if Microsoft came to Lionhead with the idea or of it was the other way around, he certainly seemed to not remember Kinect fondly.
This is part of IGN’s Unfiltered series of interviews, which you can watch in full from here, and here.
The interviews cover several games from Molyneux’s career, including Black & White, the original Fable, and the Curiosity Cube.
