Fallout 4 VR is “groundbreaking, will change the industry,” says AMD

Hardware manufacturer AMD is very excited about Fallout 4 VR, going as far as calling it the “Mario and Sonic” of VR games.

Fallout 4 VR is a version of Fallout 4 announced for the HTC Vive last year, but we’ve yet to see any footage of it.

AMD’s corporate vice president Roy Taylor has, and he’s very convinced of its potential. “It will change the way we think about VR. It will be an industry changer,” he said, via MCV.

Taylor likened it Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog in how both games shaped the early days of consoles, as well as influence countless games that would later come to each of their respective console families.

There’s certainly a lot riding on Fallout 4 VR being the first big, meaty VR game that players can spend hours with. If Bethesda truly has something special, it will no doubt help bring in the more cynical crowd.

Bethesda’s Pete Hines recently promised that the game will be at this year’s Bethesda E3 conference.
