Arms had its worldwide release last week and it reviewed well across the board.

The game has been positively received in Japan and then some, going by its first week of sales.

Gematsu reports that Arms has sold 100,652 units in its first week and seems to have had a knock-on-effect on Switch sales, which rose from 27,291 to 37,709 in the same week.

The game’s impressive sales dwarfs Tekken 7’s debut week numbers of 58,736, and it’s already beaten the fighter’s lifetime sales figure of 76,603. Arms also sold double the units that Street Fighter 5 managed in it’s first week – 46,836 – making it one of the biggest fighting games in years.

Tekken 7 experienced a 75% drop in sales as it entered its second week in the charts, so we’ll have to see how much staying power Arms has by comparison.

Meanwhile, Arms debuted at No.2 in the UK charts while Horizon Zero Dawn is back at No.1.

And despite all of the drama surrounding GTA 5 at the moment, its sitting pretty at No.3. You can check out the top 10 titles for the week below.
