Everywhere you look, the Nintendo Switch is selling as fast as it gets stocked.
The Nintendo Switch is selling very well, but it can do better still if you could just find the damn thing in stock when you want it.
The console has been constantly out of stock at most retailers. Amazon has no units left, with the earliest restock date being July 10. For many other retailers, if you’re not watching Twitter like a hawk to learn when new new stock arrives, there’s a good chance you’ll be missing out.
Obviously, this is not an ideal situation. Nintendo has repeatedly said it’s doing everything it can to increase supply, and today, the company posted an apology on its Japanese site, and thanked fans for their “continued patronage”.
The company pointed out that new stock is being shipped daily, and shipments will be increased further in July, and August, particularly the Splatoon 2 bundle. This bundle is Japan-only, though.
“For autumn and beyond, we will continue to work to ensure that as many products as possible can be delivered to our customers towards the end of the year, such as further strengthening our production system, we appreciate your understanding,” the update continued, as translated by Google.
The Switch was released in March. Splatoon 2 is out July 21.
