Destiny 2: tour the Crucible PvP map Vostok, see the Dawnblade Warlock, Sentinel and Striker Titan in-action

By Stephany Nunneley

A look at the Crucible PvP map Vostok is now available for your special eyes, and to top things off, there’s also some gameplay of the Dawnblade Warloc and Sentinel Titan battling it out with other Guardians.

The tour for Destiny 2’s Crucible PvP map Vostok is provided by environmental artist Jeff Horal, who provided plenty of details on the map to IGN.

On the map, players will return to Felwinter Peak, but shouldn’t expect Guardians outside of teammates to be sociable this time out. Here, the action will unfold on the Iron Temple from Rise of Iron, and you’ll see some of it through the eyes of the Dawnblade Warlock, along with both the Striker and Sentinel Titan Subclasses.

First up, is a general look at the map.

It is full of competing towers, caverns and buildings. The area you see at the start of the video is the location of the B-flag, and where most of the battles will take place. There will be many defensible positions, so Destiny 2 teams will need to get a gameplan together and continue to work as a team.

Keep a close eye on the two sniping towers located at the fortress, as they both look over an entire half of the map. There are other sniping perches players will need to be aware of too, and some areas which provide a flanking opportunity.

Players will have plenty of areas for cover if they are under heavy fire, though, but some of these areas can get rather busy too. Just watch your back, we reckon.

Each capture point will have its “own little base,” according to Horal, which allows players to set up defensive positions. It’s described as one of the larger maps, and what you’re viewing will be playable in Control. You can see all of these areas and more in the video.

In the IGN First video above, you’re given a look at gameplay featuring the new Dawnblade Subclass for Warlocks.

You’ll notice that Power Ammo spawned at the beginning of the match in this video, but Bungie said this will not be the case in the live game. According to IGN, this was an “adjustment made” for the build it played during its visit to Bungie.

This Striker Titan Subclass is on display in the third video, along with another look at the Sentinel Titan which is playable in the beta next week.

Yesterday, additional information was provided on the Sentinel Titan in Destiny 2, which is a Void Subclass. Once again, the Guardian’s Void Shield which you were given a look at for the first time last week is shown here on the Crucible PvP map Vostok.

Once the Destiny 2 beta goes live next week, players will be able to try the new Subclasses out. It kicks off kicks off for PS4 and Xbox One pre-order customers July 18 and July 19, respectively, and is available for pre-load from today.

Destiny 2 will go into open beta for those who did not pre-order on July 21, and the PC beta will be held in August. Since the game takes advantage of Blizzard’s infrastructure, PC users are now able to link their Bungie and Blizzard accounts in preparation for the beta.

Destiny 2 will release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on September 6.
