Splatoon 2 features the single-player Hero Mode, and we have a video today providing you with short clips of it.
The video showing clips of the single-player Hero Mode in Splatoon 2 was provided by Arekkz, who also gives you his impressions of his time with the game ahead of its July 21 release on Switch.
As he notes at the start of his video, Nintendo only allowed YouTubers to feature small clips of Hero Mode gameplay in their videos, but you’ll get a decent look at it and Arekkz discusses the single-player in general.
In Hero Mode, players will “go into hero mode” to try and find the Great Zapfish which has gone missing, again. This giant electric catfish controls the complex, and in the process of trying to find it, players will need to rescue the smaller Zapfish located on each level. It’s sounds very similar to Hero Mode in the first Splatoon. Squid sister Marie will act as the player’s guide in Hero Mode.
The single-player mode in Splatoon 2 also helps teach new players how to navigate the game before jumping into multiplayer. Here, players can also test out new weapons, learn boss fighting techniques and the like because as the player progresses, the challenges get rather sticky later on.
Players are also able to upgrade their weapons with materials providing more incentive to return to the levels to find more secrets along with orbs and other items.
Arekkz also touches upon how well the game looks when docked at 1080p and in portable mode in 720p. The controls also work well in portable mode, especially since players are able to adjust the sensitivity.
In single-player mode, players will be using all of their abilities to fight the evil Octarians. Here, you will also be trying to save one of the Squid sisters, Callie, as previously reported. Weapons which can be used include the Roller, Slosher, Splatling and more.
We’ll have more on Splatoon 2 before it releases later this month, and of course, plenty more once it is out in the wild.
