Call of Duty Infinite Warfare Absolution DLC out now, brings 4 new maps and Elvira, Mistress of the Dark
Call of Duty Infinite Warfare gets some more places to be shooty in, but nobody cares because Elvira is in it now and that’s way more important.
Call of Duty Infinite Warfare’s third DLC pack, Absolution, is out now on PC and Xbox One. It arrived on PS4 last month.
The pack adds four new multiplayer maps, which Activision says offer enough diversity to cater to every Call of Duty playstyle – although it only mentioned two, sniping and close quarters. Are there any others? Anyway, here are the descriptions:
- Bermuda
A shantytown created around the remnants of a crashed ship, Bermuda allows players to duck, dive, and wall ride from the fish market to the lighthouse in this small to medium sized map that’s been water-wasted and sandblasted. - Permafrost
Set within the chill of a frozen city skyline, Permafrost lets players stick to the ground and pick their plan of attack in one of three main lanes. They will traverse the map, moving from street side to train station, and hobo village to wrecked theatre house in this small, tight-quarters map. - Fore
In Fore, the only thing miniature about this large map is the golf courses players will be fighting in. Fore features great visual variety as players swing around the sights and sounds of areas that brandish magical forests, giant creamsicles, and elevated castle walls. - Ember
Located near an old town castle, Ember is a remake of the Modern Warfare 3 classic map Resistance, featuring old world aesthetics retrofitted with modern technology. The surroundings include lava, gallows and a torture room, where players will want to stick close to their teammates.
With that out of the way, let’s talk about the rest of the pack: Attack of the Radioactive Thing, a new Zombies chapter starring Cassandra Peterson as cult favourite character Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, in a classic 1950’s creature feature.
“Our ever-revolving cast of survivors must save a small ’50s beach town from a government science experiment gone horribly wrong,” Activision said. Along said beach you’ll fnd a new type of enemy, as well as all new weapons and traps.
As you might expect given the subject matter, this Zombie chapter sees the return of Willard Wyler, who has someone managed to trap our heroes in a flim set yet again. Thank goodness Elvira is on hand to give gameplay tips, leading a cast which also includes Seth Green (Robot Chicken, Austin Powers), Ike Barinholtz (Neighbors, Suicide Squad), Jay Pharoah (White Famous, Saturday Night Live) and Sasheer Zamata (Saturday Night Live, Pizza Mind).
The Absolution DLC pack is available now individually or as part of the Call of Duty Infinite Warfare season pass. The season pass also comes with weapons, supply drops and salvage credits, by the way.
