Final Fantasy 15 is getting Assassin’s Creed DLC because why not

The Animus has crossed its wires and is dropping Assassin’s Creed content into Final Fantasy.

Remember all those stories about Square Enix’s unique content plans for Final Fantasy 15? It wasn’t kidding – today the publisher revealed it will partner with none other than Ubisoft to bring Assassin’s Creed content, costumes, and gameplay mechanics to Eos.

No, I’m not making this up.

Starting on August 30th, Final Fantasy 15 will kick off its event by giving Noctis a new costume if you’ve collected the Dream Egg from the Moogle Chocobo Carnival. The following day, Lestalium will transform to celebrate the “Assassin’s Festival”, complete with collectible items and NPCs in altered costumes. Going from a new trailer released by Square Enix, Final Fantasy 15 even seems to be getting some new story content – not to mention new gameplay systems that let you climb buildings as though Noctis were actually Ezio.

This isn’t the first time Assassin’s Creed content has appeared in a Final Fantasy game, but it might just have the biggest scope of a crossover yet.

So far there’s no word on whether Noctis and friends will be able to visit the Assassin’s Creed Universe, but with Origins arriving on October 27, it’s entirely possible.
