GTA Online Smuggler’s Run patch notes: downforce changes, invisible collision in races fixed, improvements to crashes and matchmaking – more
With today’s GTA Online Smuggler’s Run update comes a whole bunch of features and fixes, as detailed in the latest patch notes.
Smuggler’s Run allows the player to get involved in the air freight business, shifting cargo with old buddy Ron after buying a new hanger and a fleet of aircraft. It’s expensive, and you’ll find it similar to the fun had with the Import/Export business.
As well as seven new aircraft and two new vehicles, there’s also a new Adversary mode and additional features like allowing players to fly in formation – similar to riding in formation as biker gangs – and a bunch of bug fixes and tweaks.
Most interesting to the racing community will be Rockstar’s tweaking of downforce. Downforce on a number of vehicles has been changed and fiddled with, causing upset to regular racers.
But the latest update has rolled back the clock on those changes, insisting, “Changes to vehicle downforce calculations have been made to make sure vehicle handling behaves in the same way as before the Gunrunning content update.”
Another important change for racing fans will be the fixing of a maddening collision bug: “Fixed an issue during Races that caused invisible collision to appear in the world for a small period of time whenever another player finished the Race,” reads the patch notes.
Elsewhere, and we take this with a pinch of salt considering the constant connection issues in GTA Online, Rockstar insists that “improvements have been made in GTA Online to prevent crashes, improve the quality of matchmaking, and reduce the number of network connection issues such as disconnections and split session.”
Here’s the full list of patch notes, straight from the horses mouth:
