Gamescom 2017 was once again a success with over 350,000 visitors. The annual event has also been dated for 2018.
In 2016, gamescom saw 345,000 visitors during August 27-20, which jumped by 5,000 bodies August 22-26, 2017 according to elementary math.
Visitors from 106 countries attended, up from 97 in 2016. The 2017 figure also bests the previous record of 100 countries.
Trade folks numbered 30,700, up 200 compared to 30,500 in 2016 with 919 companies from 54 countries present.
There were also 919 exhibitors compared to 877 in 2016, 72% of which were foreign exhibitors from 54 countries compared to 68% from 53 countries in 2016.

Gamescom is one of the largest gaming events and had been held yearly since August 2009.
Originally known as the Games Convention or Leipzig Games Convention, the event was first held in 2002 before being moved to Cologne along with a name change to gamescom.
That’s all wonderful and everything, but what week in August should you mark off on your calendar in 2018?
That would be August 21-25, 2018. Plan accordingly.
