New Absolver video shows off character customisation options

You may be hiding behind a mask the entire time in Absolver, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have a say in what your character looks like.

It’s a bit curious to have a character customisation screen in a game with a bit of minimalist art style and not many faces, but developer Sloclap wanted to give players some options.

The trailer below tells the story of the many prospects who come to the fallen Adal Empire seeking to prove themselves. Outside of some basic choices such as origin, gender, and hair style, there aren’t that many sliders to tweak.

What we also see is the game’s equipment system. Different pieces come with different bonuses, and the weight of each one matters, too. Heavier armour grants better protection but will slow you down, which doesn’t seem like a good idea in something with as fluid of a combat system as Absolver is.

The game continues to look really unique, and I personally can’t wait to try it out later this month.

Absolver is out August 29 on PC, and PS4.
