New games releasing this week: August 7 – August 13

Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice, Lawbreakers, a new Batman series and West of Loathing. A busy week.

A lot of long waits pay off this week, starting with Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. This is the first release Ninja Theory has headlined since DmC: Devil May Cry, and has been billed as a triple-A indie – a shorter experience, but with the production values of a major title.

Lawbreakers is another one we’ve been waiting for. The free-to-play arena shooter is the first post-Epic release from Cliff Bleszinski and his team at Boss Key, and is supposed to resonate with the fast-paced PC shooters of yore. With Quake Champions and the new DOOM in the mix that formula is making a comeback.

West of Loathing is a new RPG from the team behind Kingdom of Loathing, and you’re now already interested or a little bit puzzled. The stick-figure browser MMO is famous for its quirky mechanics and sense of humour, which we expect to carry over to this new title, releasing through Steam.

There are a few other things to look for this week, including the start of the second Batman series from Telltale. Take a squizz at the full release list for the week below.
