Thinking of grabbing We Happy Few? Buy it this week before the price shoots up

We Happy Few isn’t finished with Steam Early Access, but it is finished with Early Access prices.

It sounds like We Happy Few developer Compulsion Games is pretty close to announcing a release date for the alt-history survival adventure, and is preparing for the game’s final form – including its price tag.

According to an update on the developer’s website, as spotted by Destructoid, We Happy Few will be priced at $51 from August 16. Right now, you can pick it up for $30 via Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle and the Xbox Live Store.

“We have made clear that the price would increase as we approach the final release, and that time has – finally – come,” Compulsion Games wrote.

“As you can imagine, there is more to the story, and we are looking forward to sharing all the juicy details with you.”

Juicy details, eh? Full release date announce, I’m betting. Anyway, that’s not all that’s happening on August 16 – there’ll also be a major update to We Happy Few called Life in Technicolour.

The patch will add “new Joy effects as well as a brand new UI (still WIP), AI rework and much more”, with full details coming in a video on the day.

In the meantime, visit the post linked above to learn more about what each of the teams have been up to over the past week; We Happy Few’s early access period has been pretty communicative in that regard.

We Happy Few is available in early access form on both PC and via Xbox One Game Preview.
