At gamescom 2017, EA brought footage of an entire match of Star Wars: Battlefront 2’s Starfighter Assault mode.
The mode supports 12v12 players and features three phases of objective-based action, much like the regular Assault mode on the ground.
The video shows multiple hero ships from all three eras of Star Wars, and we even get to see several join the fight. Just like standard multiplayer modes, eras can mix together. For example, Poe Dameron’s Black One is seen alongside Darth Maul’s Scimitar, and Han Solo’s Millennium Falcon.
As previously confirmed, Starfighter Assault features class-based starfighters, and the spawn screen looks similar to the other modes with the different class selections. There are three classes for each team, not counting the hero ships, fighter, interceptor, and bomber.
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 is out November 17 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. An open beta is scheduled for October, and the Starfighter Assault mode will be part the available content.
